Reporting Hiring of New Employees to Child Support Enforcement new 5/16/02

Missouri statute § 285.300 requires employers to send form W-4 or the equivalent information to the Missouri Department of Revenue within 20 days of hiring an employee. The information is forwarded to the division of child support enforcement on a weekly basis and entered into the State and National Directories of New Hires data bases, and is used to track persons with child support obligations. Forms filed electronically or magnetically must be sent by two monthly transmissions, if necessary, not less than twelve days nor more than sixteen days apart. An employer with employees in two or more states who transmits reports magnetically or electronically may comply by designating one of the states and notifying the Secretary of Health and Human Services of such designation.
